Risks

Buying at an auction is never without risk!

The tension in the auction room can sometimes be cutting and for non-professional buyers it can be hard to stay calm in that case. Who does not have nerves of steel would perhaps be wise to call in the assistance of a third party (for instance a realtor). Then this realtor can make the bid on instructions of the buyer.

But there can also be catches with regard to the building to be bought. Is it rented out? Does the building have defects? Try to get as much information on a building as possible before the building is auctioned. Our notary's office can give you a copy of an appraisal report and indicate what costs you have to pay.
