Division
The term division concerns division of something that is undivided. Undivided interests are found, inter alias, in an inheritance and in a dissolved marriage. In all these cases, all that is held in common ownership and is still undivided (the undivided community) has to be divided.
In many cases you can divide yourself, especially if you agree with each other on how the division has to be made. In several cases you need the notary, notably when it concerns for instance registered property, and if someone who is under age or for whose property an administrator has been appointed is entitled to the community.
